Everyone has heard of Queen Victoria Markets, but have you been to South Melbourne Markets? Established in 1867, it is actually one of the city's oldest markets!

Wander past fresh cut flowers, local fruit and vegetable stalls, meats and deli, fresh seafood, spice stalls, crafts and specialty shops... there is a lot to see, smell, touch and taste.

I have only ever visited on the weekend, but these markets are open every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am. I'd come here for fresh produce (especially for the fruit and seafood), to buy gifts or to eat at the variety of patisserie or food stalls!

On the weekends, the food hall is always buzzing with people, especially at the popular stalls - check out the famous homemade dim sum or a jam doughnut!
